Supervisor quick-start guide
Supervisors use DORWorks to review training documentation, complete assigned approvals, and follow trainee progress. Your program role and configured workflows determine which records and actions are available.
Prepare your account and select a trainee
Create your saved signature under My Profile before performing approval actions that require it.
On Dashboard, confirm the active trainee and training program. If you work across programs, review the applicable scale, category definitions, and agency procedures for each one.
Review your assigned work
- Select the notification bell.
- Open a record assigned to you.
- Confirm its trainee, date, program, and current workflow step.
- Read the assessments, comments, narratives, events, and relevant attachments.
- Use the available action to approve, acknowledge, or return the record as appropriate to your responsibility.
A daily record, evaluation, and phase-advancement form may follow different chains. Complete the step shown for the specific record.
Return work needing correction
When a return action is available, explain what needs correction so the responsible person can address it. Check the workflow status afterward to see who has the next task.
Completed records may be locked. If a record needs reopening, follow your agency’s correction process and use administrator actions only when your permissions allow them. Reopened completed daily records must pass through the required workflow again.
Review objectives and checklists
Some objectives and checklist items require supervisor approval separately from daily-record workflows. Review the item, its training steps, comments, and any trainee acknowledgment before recording the assigned approval.
If an item remains pending, check for other required steps or sign-offs.
Review trainee progress
Use reports and analytics available to your role to review category history, training activity, and other recorded information. Confirm the selected trainee, program, phases, and filters before interpreting results.
Open the underlying daily records and narratives to understand the context behind an assessment or summary. Follow your agency’s procedures when planning feedback or additional training.
Respond to training alerts
Review alerts sent to you and open the associated training information. An alert identifies a condition to review; it does not replace assessment of the underlying records or agency-required follow-up.
Resolve access or routing issues
If expected work is missing or assigned to the wrong reviewer, ask the program administrator to check roles, team membership, and the relevant workflow or alert settings. Contact support for help with unexpected application behavior.
