Reset the John Doe practice trainee
The John Doe practice trainee lets staff learn DORWorks using sample training activity. Over time, practice daily records, forms, and other entries can make that training environment cluttered. An authorized administrator can reset John Doe to begin a fresh round of practice.
Before resetting
Confirm that you are working with the provided John Doe practice trainee in the intended training program. Preserve any practice examples or files you still need before proceeding.
Reset is intended to clear practice activity. Use your agency’s normal administration process for a real trainee’s training record or program completion.
Open reset from the program settings
- Open Admin → Training Programs.
- Select the intended program’s name or Settings.
- Open Reset.
- Review the action for resetting the practice trainee John Doe.
- When you are ready to clear the practice activity, use that action and follow the displayed prompts.
Alternative entry point
The trainee-management page also provides a Reset John Doe action. Open Admin → Trainees, locate that practice-specific action, and confirm the intended program before proceeding.
Check the practice trainee afterward
Return to the practice trainee’s dashboard and review its starting state. Use John Doe to create new practice activity and test the workflows staff need to learn.
Show or hide the practice trainee
Main program settings include an option to show the practice trainee John Doe. If staff cannot find the practice trainee, ask the program administrator to check that setting.
Hiding the practice trainee and resetting practice activity are different actions. Review which action you intend to take before changing the program.
Need help with a reset?
Contact support before resetting if you are unsure which records the action will affect or need to preserve particular practice material. Include the agency and program name so support can help identify the correct setup.
