Configure Nextgen tasks and participation
Nextgen task tracking records a trainee’s experience with defined tasks and their participation levels. Administrators configure the task list, optional task categories, and participation choices for each program.
Enable task tracking
- Open Admin → Training Programs.
- Select the intended Nextgen program’s name or Settings.
- Find Program Task Tracking in the main program settings.
- Enable tracking and review the displayed task label.
- Choose whether to group tasks into categories.
- Save the settings.
Task tracking provides a Tasks area on the daily record and a trainee task report. These tasks are configured separately from the shared objectives matrix and ordinary event natures.
Add task categories and tasks
- Open the program’s Tasks tab.
- If you use categories, select Add Category and create the groups you need.
- Select the appropriate category and add a task.
- Enter its label and save using the displayed controls.
- Repeat for the remaining tasks.
Existing tasks can be edited, assigned to another category, or deactivated using the available task controls.
Import a plain task list
The one-per-line import accepts task labels. Enter or paste one task per line and use the task import control. This import does not include a category alongside each task; review category assignments afterward if needed.
Import tasks with categories
- Download the supplied task import template.
- Preserve its headers.
- Populate the category-name and task-label columns.
- Review the completed file for accuracy.
- Use the supplied import controls, then review the resulting categories and tasks.
Configure participation levels
Open Participation to add or edit the levels and their colors. Crawl, Walk, and Run are examples shown in the Academy; use the labels and definitions required by your own program.
Test the setup
Open a daily record for a practice trainee and review the Tasks area. Record practice entries using the available controls, then review the trainee task report. Confirm the task labels, category grouping, and participation choices before rollout.
The Tasks area is missing
Check that task tracking is enabled and saved for the correct program. Also confirm that the account has appropriate access and that you are viewing that program’s daily record.
