Configure checklist and objective completion options
Completion options are the labels used for training check-offs, such as Issued, Reviewed, Explained, or Demonstrated. Administrators manage the available labels, then select which ones apply to each checklist item or objective.
Checklist completion options and objective completion options are managed separately.
Manage checklist completion options
- Open Admin → Training Programs and select the correct program.
- Open the completion-options tab associated with Checklists.
- Add a completion option or edit an existing one.
- Enter a label that accurately describes the action.
- Review its active status and save the change.
Return to the checklist item’s editor to select the available options that item should use and identify its final completion option.
Manage objective completion options
- Open the correct program’s Objective Completion Options.
- Add a new option or edit an existing one.
- Enter the appropriate label and save.
- Edit an objective to choose its allowed completion options.
- Designate the option representing the final completion step and save the objective.
For example, one objective may use Explained, Observed, Demonstrated, and Completed, while another uses fewer steps. Configure the options to reflect the training being documented.
Check sequence settings
The program’s main settings control whether users must follow completion steps in sequence and whether they can record a final completion step before earlier steps. Review those settings alongside the options selected for the item.
Availability of a later checkbox may therefore depend on both the item’s completion options and the program’s sequence settings.
Keep acknowledgment and approval requirements in mind
An item’s final staff completion option is separate from any required trainee acknowledgment or supervisor approval. Review those requirements in the checklist item or objective settings.
Test the result
Open the affected checklist or objective for a practice trainee. Confirm that the expected columns appear, that the sequence works as intended, and that any required trainee or supervisor action remains visible.
Before renaming or retiring labels already used in training, review the existing records and contact support if you need guidance on preserving their meaning.
