Use notifications and manage workflow email

The notification bell helps you find training work that needs your attention. Notifications depend on your role, program settings, and the features your agency uses.

Open a notification

  1. Select the bell in the page header.
  2. Review the listed notifications.
  3. Select an item to open its related record or page.
  4. Read the record and complete the action assigned to you.

Check the record’s workflow or completion status to confirm whether further action is needed. Opening a notification does not necessarily complete the task.

Types of notifications

  • Checklist or objective acknowledgment: A trainee reviews an item and completes the required sign-off.
  • Daily-record or form workflow: An assigned user reviews, approves, acknowledges, or returns the record as permitted.
  • Objective supervisor approval: A supervisor reviews and approves an objective requiring that step.
  • Training alert: A recipient reviews the related training information and follows agency procedures.
  • Export ready: The requesting staff member opens the export page to download the generated archive.

Change workflow email preferences

  1. Open your name menu and select My Profile.
  2. Find Notification preferences.
  3. Adjust Email me when a workflow step is waiting on me.
  4. Save the preference if the page provides a save control.

This setting controls workflow email. It does not remove work assigned to you in DORWorks, and it does not control separate program training-alert or export-ready emails.

A notification remains after you open it

Review the linked record to see whether it still requires an acknowledgment, approval, or another assigned action. Notification types may clear at different points in the process.

If you cannot complete the required action, ask your administrator to check your role, the current workflow step, and any signature requirement.
