Templates - My
Who this is for
FTOs, supervisors, and staff who write DOR narratives and comments.
What My Templates are
My templates are your personal reusable text blocks. Narrative paragraphs, comment snippets, etc. You insert them while editing a DOR or other fields that offer Insert template….
They are separate from:
- Program content templates — agency-wide, configured under Program → Templates (admin)
- Form templates — attached to form fields (admin)
Open My Templates
My Profile → My templates, or My templates from your account menu.
Create a template
- Click Add template (or edit an existing one).
- Enter a Template name you will recognize.
- Choose Placements — where the template may appear:
- All narrative/comment fields (broad), or
- Specific contexts such as DOR daily narrative, category comments, event narratives (options depend on your agency features)
- For rating category comment templates, select which rating categories apply.
- Write body text in the editor.
- Save.
Set Active off to hide a template without deleting it.
Use while working
On a DOR (or other supported field):
- Place the cursor in the narrative or comment field.
- Click Insert template…
- Pick your template or an agency template if offered.
- Text is inserted — edit before saving the DOR. Choosing another template adds it after the text already in the field.
Templates do not auto-save the DOR; save the DOR as usual.
Tips
- Keep names short and specific (“Traffic stop narrative”, “End of shift summary”).
- Do not put confidential case details in template names — names may be visible in pickers.
- Update templates when your agency changes preferred wording.
